Promoting Online Communication

Email
Primarily enhances a one-to-one exchange of information and ideas. With email, students can exchange ideas across town or across the globe. Mass mailings can keep large groups informed.

Students: Email projects as attachments to themselves as homework or turn in assignments by sending to a teacher. Email also allows students to work with experts or send messages to community and government leaders.

Parents: Rather than unfulfilled phone messages, email offers teachers to effectively document communication with parents and lets all involved deal with issues in their own time.

Mass email: Use a mass email to inform parents of upcoming events, projects, field trips, or classroom news. If you don’t mail merge, then list addresses in BC’c field to protect privacy.
